How it works
In person at the studio or virtually. Your hair loss, your goals, and a straight answer on whether SMP is right for you.
Your hairline is drawn to your face and age, and a shade is custom-mixed to your skin tone and hair colour.
Density is layered gradually rather than all at once, so the result grows in and never arrives looking sudden.
Full healing takes around four weeks after the final session. After that: sunscreen, and get on with your life.
The pigment
Pigment2Scalp uses 5PM Shadow — a carbon-based ink formulated specifically for scalps, not borrowed from body tattooing. Organic, vegan, and made of distilled water, carbon black, isopropyl alcohol and witch hazel.
The honest bit
No anesthetics are used, and none are needed. SMP is a stippling technique into the upper layers of the scalp — closer to a firm tapping than a tattoo. Results last three to seven years before they soften.
The artist
Patrick Presco is the only artist at Pigment2Scalp — he does the consultation, the design and every session himself. He came to SMP from a BA in Art, and it shows in the part that matters most: where the hairline sits, how soft it starts, and how the density falls away behind it.
